Reflect Church is an extension and outpost of Jesus’ church, founded in the first century on the day of Pentecost, as recorded in the book of Acts. Jesus is the Senior Pastor, the Chief Shepherd. He continues his mission to make disciples and plant churches through the local church by the power of the Holy Spirit and qualified leadership. We gather and scatter in Jesus’ name, for his renown. We believe the pattern of gospel-centered ministry in Acts, described here, as “the core four” is an effective strategy to accomplish Jesus’ mission, push back darkness and flood the city with reflected Light.
Reflect Church exists to flood the city with Jesus. Therefore, we are a gospel-centered church. By that, we mean that we are all about the salvific work and person of Jesus of Nazareth. Like Paul, we resolve to preach Christ and him crucified. The revelation of Jesus Christ is the driving force behind Reflect Church. We will open the Scriptures and boldly proclaim Jesus on every page. Gospel Preaching is the catalyst for everything we do at Reflect Church.
We believe that Gospel Preaching is best digested in community. Gospel Community is our primary environment for discipleship. Wrestling with biblical texts and conversations over great food and drink with friends is Jesus’ model of ministry. Praying for one another, carrying one another’s burdens, encouraging one another–all the “one anothers” in scripture–are the fabric of Gospel Community.
We live by the gospel, in community and on mission. Jesus sends his disciples to make more disciples and to be a blessing–to flood the city with reflected Light. Missionaries (we are all missionaries) require training. Gospel Training happens in community and in the classroom. We want to train and equip the church to fulfill their unique ministry and calling.
Whether you are a public servant, small business owner, student or soccer mom, we want you to embrace your everyday, ordinary life as a divine calling or Gospel Vocation. All vocations are potential channels of God’s love. Whether changing diapers or changing tires, the opportunity to flood
the city with Jesus is present.
